Hello there!
Forward Excel Training & Design is my company that I launched, based on my experience as a writer, leader, and educator. I have been writing for 27 years, led academic departments for 11 years, and teaching for 14 years. During this time, I’ve seen a lot and learned a lot. Whether working with students, adults, leaders, or teams, I found that writing and communication were often present as either the problems or the solutions when it came to success and challenges at work.
A bit about my professional background. Regarding the classroom, my teaching experience is centered on writing, student success principles, the study of communication, and public speaking—all at the college level. Outside of my faculty role, I train instructors for classroom success. I concentrate on instructor coaching, onboarding, assignment and assessment design, all while implementing strategies of interpersonal and instructional communication. I also hone in on strategies for effective teaching in onsite and digital platforms while improving classroom learning climate and assembling inclusive teaching practices that last.

Using my extensive familiarity with writing, teaching, and communication strategy, I help my clients revise, create, and deliver workplace solutions that will facilitate more effective communication, favorable learning outcomes, deeper impact, and increased productivity. My writing and editing experience are based within platforms of journalism, academia, and entrepreneurship. Through my love of knowledge, I’ve completed consulting research projects for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
I am so grateful for my business because it provides a lane for me to be creative. My passion for writing and teaching opened a door for me to partner with clients and use my skills to create resolutions for their needs. There’s a lot of good that comes from these types of collaborations. My business allows me to contribute as well as gain. When I’m working with my clients, I’m not just producing. I’m learning from them, too.
When I’m not working, I’m reading. Visiting museums, learning about history, and watching legal dramas are some of my favorites. In addition to that, I like to work on home organizing projects. Finally, coffee and nail color are very important to me.
